Purchases under $50.00..go ahead and spend it. -Any money already budgeted for go ahead and spend -If you have gone through finance committee and purchase is approved, please spend within 30-60 days. Some discussion regarding if funds were budgeted and how they are spent. Chronicler's Report -Carved in Granite was a week late due to computer issues. -This C&G was $8.00 per issue due to full colour printing (around $300.00 =$3.00/issue) -The next time we do color issue, Tadgh proposes purchasing color cartridges for his printer (which will remain the property of the Barony) at a cost of $80.00/cartridge. -Exchequer * okay to do this -Inquiry as to whether we can move C&G online. -Tadgh to research online publication and will report at next Curia. Will also contact Kingdom Chronicler. He will also speak with Eadric and Dorio. -Budget will need to be submitted by December if we need software or anything else. -Signing up for email delivery of newsletter discussed. Mistress of Lists -There is new paperwork on the yahoo Stonemarche group website -Call for missing directional signs to be returned to the care of of our esteemed Mistress of Lists -Mistress submits the concept of of building shelves for storage of the Barony's gear. Baroness suggests including budget for plastic totes in the proposal. As Chamberlain's office has no budget (left?) Tessa will put a request for funding to the Finance Committee for next year. (Around $100 + help to build shelves) -We need to fix poles for Birka*use M.O.L. budget ($130.00 remaining) M.O.L. will sit down with Exchequer to re-budget. Lord Argus Absent Minister of Arts & Science -Bil has taken a Deputy*Robert of Stonemarche huzzah! -Tunic workshop being hosted by Robert of Stonemarche tomorrow. -Request for photos of Art & Science "stuff" for the Stonemarche official website. -Report from Kingdom MOAS -2 spring EKU's March 22nd Nova Scotia & March 29th in Carolingia -The SCA is rewriting part of the Mission Statement of the SCA to center around Arts and Sciences. Captain of the Archers -Discussion ensued on the topic of the Archery Budget -Reminder from the exchequer, try to separate needs for events and practices -4 Archery practices: New Boston, Baron Harold's(Dover), Lady Cairnat's (Barrington) and UNH's Boulder field -New forms look like event forms and are in the yahoo groups, file section. Captain of the Fencers -Report from Brill -Lady Jocelyn is our only Marshall but we now have Brill and Frenya as Marshalls in Training! -Trying to find a place to practice in Concord twice a month. -Baron & Baroness offer their backyard. -Will try to contact Concord School of Fencers Other Reports: Topaz Ball -November 4th. -Lord Kynar reports that Lady Leonora & Lady Bethra are working on it for Sunday, November 4th at UNH. Baronial Birthday -Lord Dorio was unable to find a location for the 20th Barony's 20th Birthday. If he doesn't hear anything by Wednesday night, he will start planning the Barony's 21st b-day as a very wet site! -Will look into the costs of Fort #4 for next year. Gwyn's 50th B-day party -Possibility of an April fools party. This is Gwyn's 50th birthday and 30th year of fighting. -Dorio to check Keene & Deerfield Town Hall. -Indoor fighting*over 50 vs. under 50. -Note that we have very few young fighters. Yule -December 15th -Captain Hobbs will run the event and will submit a budget to the Finance Committee. Still needs to confirm site. Birka Autocrat -January 25th & 26th -Birka 2008 website is up and running -Lady Batujin submits that in 2008 we will need 1375 people to attend in order to break even. -There is a potential for the site fees to increase. -Table fees increase from $12 to $15 -$2000 go to Fire Department, Police Department, site fees, set up , take down and honorariums. -Last year we pulled a $2000 profit, not including $800.00 back from site fee. -Batty proposes getting rid of the $2.00 fee reduction and leaving a flat $12.00 fee. -Need another register ($125-150) *will get prices. -Note that there is a hockey game on Friday and Saturday night so traffic will be crazy. If you are staying at the event parking is $3.00 vs. $10.00 if you aren't. -All major staff in place. -Discussion as to whether we let volunteers in for free (80 volunteers). Currently we feed them gratis. Should we give them Staff tokens? -Tokens will be done by December 1st. -Must have staff listing in by December 31st for free volunteers. -Exchequer requests comments via email regarding volunteer discussion*how do we differentiate between hard-core volunteers v.s. casual volunteers? How do we compensate them? In the past volunteers needed to work 6 hours before we feed them. -The only ones to get free rooms are the Autocrat, King & Queen, Prince & Princess. -Lady Sine requests the pleasure of running the Birka Fashion Show. -There will be no flexibility regarding the SCA and East Kingdom law that children under 13 MUST be accompanied by a parent at ALL times. This is non-negotiable. Period. End. Fin. -All children must have forms filled out as per Kingdom law with no exceptions. Merchant Coordinator -$3.00 increase per table -All dates have been moved up by one month. Last year vendors were advised of the change. -October 1st-31st registration begins and is going in next months Pikestaff. -Next year will work toward September 1st for registration and everything being done ad set up before Pensic * MC noted that this will need futher discussion -All key staff to meet one month prior to event. -Recommend booking hotel rooms now while there are still rooms left.
